Recovery Takes Flight
On September 1st at noon, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether, along with Keystone Executive Director Carol Regier and other staff, patients and alumni, joined together at the Keystone outreach office in Sioux Falls for our 3rd annual “Recovery Takes Flight” balloon release. This year’s event also included a simultaneous balloon release at Keystone’s inpatient facility in Canton, S.D., where more than 100 staff members and patients released balloons honoring those in our community who are in recovery from addiction.
During the event Mayor Huether read his proclamation designating September as “National Drug and Alcohol Awareness Month” in Sioux Falls. South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds also sent a proclamation which was read during the event. Several local media outlets reported on this year’s “Recovery Takes Flight” event, including KELO-TV (CBS) and KSFY-TV (ABC) as well as the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.
