Dear children; With motherly perseverance and love I am bringing you the light of life to destroy the darkness of death in you. Do not reject me, my children. Stop and look within yourselves and see how sinful you are. Be aware of your sins and pray for forgiveness. My children, you do not desire to accept that you are weak and little, but you can be strong and great by doing God’s will. Give me your cleansed hearts that I may illuminate them with the light of life, my Son. Thank you.
“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for you. My call, little children, desires to be for you a call to decide to follow the way of conversion; therefore, pray and seek the intercession of all the saints. May they be for you an example, an incentive and a joy towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Dear children; Today I call you to a humble, my children, humble devotion. Your hearts need to be just. May your crosses be your means in the battle against the sins of the present time. May your weapon be patience and boundless love - a love that knows to wait and which will make you capable of recognizing God's signs - that your life, by humble love, may show the truth to all those who seek it in the darkness of lies. My children, my apostles, help me to open the paths to my Son. Once again I call you to pray for your shepherds. Alongside them, I will triumph. Thank you.
“Dear children, I am beside you because I desire to help you to overcome trials, which this time of purification puts before you. My children, one of those is not to forgive and not to ask for forgiveness. Every sin offends Love and distances you from it – and Love is my Son. Therefore, my children, if you desire to walk with me towards the peace of God’s love, you must learn to forgive and to ask for forgiveness. Thank you.”
It has been a tradition for decades for the holy mass to be served atop of Cross Mountain the first Sunday after the assumption of Our Lady and today is no different. Living at the base of the cross mountain gives me a front row spot for a number of events through the year, standing on the balcony of our home this morning made me realize how fortunate I am to be living here. One of the speakers at one of the events here in Medjugorje once said "this place is the heart of the catholic world", at that time I did not realize what he had said but now I understand. Our Lady, the mother of God came here, she is moving people closer to him. Throughout the year people come to Medjugorje in multitudes but going up to the Cross Mountain, barefoot, on their knees, with their children, suffering but offering it up. They come closer to God and Our Lady.
Fr. Marinko Sakota, a priest that was just recently transferred to Medjugorje as the parish vicar is the one that has the honors of being the main celebrant atop of Cross Mountain. If I had to guess the number of people that went up to the hill over the past night and the morning I would say 25 - 30000. We should get a closer number when I get the information on the number of holy communions that were given out.
The Assumption of Our Lady, a big day in the Catholic church and a big day here in Medjugorje. It is traditionally celebrated here but also in other parishes. It is a state feast day in the Rep. of Croatia when the police is in fine array, the state is consecrated to Our Lady.
I went for a walk through the fields and the white gazebo is where the evening program is taking place and I would estimate around 25000 people attending the Holy Mass.
Hello all, as you must know, the youth fest is over and as you noticed I did not deliver much over the past week or so. I've taken some photos and some videos and most of it is being edited. I had an opportunity to interview or better yet to film a very interesting testimony of a former IRA member, I will edit this and hopefully publish it here. In the meantime, here is a timelapse I did a few days ago climbing the Cross Mountain at 5:30 am, I wanted to show how busy this the path up was. This is a set of 1360 photos streamed as a video clip, I hope you like it. Click read more to view the video clip.
Dear Children! Today I call you, together with me, to begin to build the Kingdom of Heaven in your hearts; that you may forget that what is personal and - led by the example of my Son - think of what is of God. What does He desire of you? Do not permit Satan to open the paths of of earthly happiness, the paths without my Son. My children, they are false and last a short while. My Son exists. I offer you eternal happiness and peace and unity with my Son, with God; I offer you the Kingdom of God. Thank you.
As some of you know, today is the opening of the Youth Fest 2010, the youth has arrived for the most part and you can feel the energy in the air already. The temperature is in the seventies and there is a slight breeze, it is 6:25 right now and I am going to for the evening mass. The opening sharing will take place just before mass where the youth from different countries will greet the gathered people. I will try to share some photos and videos on daily basis. Please stat tuned and join us in prayer wherever you are. GOD BLESS.
Here is a short video clip I did this evening, I hope you like it. Click read more on the right.
Dear friends of Medjugorje, as you all know today is the day of the patron of our parish, St. James the Greater, I just want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy feast day. You are all a part of Our Parish no matter where you live. St. James is the patron saint of the pilgrims and if you are here seeking information on Our Lady's apparitions, you are on a pilgrimage and that makes you a pilgrim, therefore St. James is your patron saint. GOD BLESS.
Patron of the parish of Medjugorje.
For James there was no indication that this was the day that his life would change. The dawn for him was not the bright beginning of a new day, but the end of long fruitless night of fishing. As James sat mending his nets in the boat with his brother John and his father Zebedee, he must have watched in wonder as his partner Simon brought in nets loaded with fish he had caught at the command of Jesus. Was he shocked when he saw Simon and his brother Andrew walk away from this incredible catch at a word from this same Jesus?
As he watched Jesus walk toward him followed by Simon and Andrew, did he feel curiosity, fear, hope, envy? Jesus didn't pass him by but, stopping by their boat, called James and his brother John to do just what Simon and Andrew had done. Without argument or discussion, James and John left their boat and even their father behind, and followed Jesus.
