National Center for Atmospheric Research Supercomputer Announcement
Rapid City, SD - Rapid Fire Protection, Inc. is pleased to have been awarded the National Center for Atmospheric Research Wyoming Supercomputer Center (NWSC) in Cheyenne Wyoming.
The NWSC website describes the project in this way :
"The NWSC project encompasses the design and construction of a world class center for high performance scientific computing in the atmospheric and related geosciences. Consistent with its mission, the facility will be a leader in energy efficiency, incorporating the newest and most efficient designs and technologies available. The center will provide new space to enable the advancement of scientific knowledge, education, and service through high-performance computing."
Rapid Fire Protection, Inc. will be performing the engineering, design and installation of the fire protection systems as a subcontractor to Denver based Saunders Construction, Inc. Rapid Fire Protection is a contractor specializing in the engineering, design andinstallation of automatic fire sprinkler systems.

We expect this project to be example of efficiency and excellence under Saunders Construction's experience and leadership" said Rod DiBona, vice president of sales and marketing at Rapid Fire Protection, Inc. Mr. DiBona continued "We are looking forward to meeting the challenge of delivering on a system of this complexity using the latest generation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools from AutoDesk. This project will be entirely modelled in three dimensions, planned and coordinated with Revit. The use of BIM in this manner will provide significant savings to the tax payer during the design and construction phase with an even larger savings to be accrued and realized throughout the lifetime of the facility."
