HeartStarters was founded and established by Mary Houska in July 2001. She began her career as an EMT-Paramedic in 1984 and has responded to victims of cardiac arrest and horrific scenes of accidents in which citizens trained in CPR and First Aid have made a dramatic difference in how the victim survived and recovered.
As a resident of Sioux Falls since 1992, Mary discovered it was near-impossible to find CPR and First Aid classes. Thus the idea of Heartstarters was born. HeartStarters mission is to provide a greater number of quality life saving programs in Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. Our mission is simply to "Save That Life".
In 2002 HeartStarters received recognition as an American Heart Association Training Center.
HeartStarters offers a wide variety of workplace and community courses. We can bring the training to your facility for as few as 6 students at no extra charge.
