Countryside Hospice, Inc is a 501 c 3 non-profit agency established in 1980, which serves thePierre/Fort Pierre area by providing:
Funding for hospice and palliative care services
Education and support for cancer patients and their families
Support groups for cancer patients
Travel funds for cancer patients who must leave our community for treatment (Bed and Breakfast program)
Bereavement support for adults
Support and education for patients with Alzheimer's and their caregivers
Professional and community education in the areas of cancer care, communication skills, grief in the workplace, grief and loss and end of life care
Information about Advance Directives including Durable Power of Attorney for healthcare andliving wills
Funding comes from memberships, memorials, donations, fund-raising events and proceeds from the hospice thrift store. All funding stays in our community to provide services and all support groups /patient information is provided at no charge.
Volunteers have always been the foundation of Countryside Hospice. Through the years, hundreds of volunteers have made hospice care possible - a grassroots effort that is firmly established in our community.
